Personal Attacks

Read:
Rather than focusing on whether Manning did leak the documents, the investigators decide to focus on attempting to attack Manning personally and use it against Manning and his superiors. What a really lousy way to investigate any case.
Here's how to be an investigator...
  • Get straight to the point.
  • Avoid rumours.
  • Have solid evidences that are acceptable in the Court of Law.
  • The evidences and arguments should be convincing to the point the defendant have no way to run.
  • Coercion to attempt to proof you are correct... is incorrect.
  • Let the defendant speak fully his story and then look into the story and spot for inconsistant facts to be used.
Personally looking at Manning (and most probably spinning stories about him which is very common like how they did to Julian Assange) to degrade Manning and the people around him in hope of Manning coerced to 'confession', is a very bad yet probably effective technique.
